PAINT, SKETCH & WALK

Our Summer Art School for teens continues this summer. New art techniques and skills will be taught with a particular focus on painting and drawing. We will make work in response to As it Darkens, an exhibition by studio member James Wellwood which is part of this year’s Galway International Arts Festival. We will select a painting to create our own painting compositions and drawings from. Every day we will select a place to go to and draw from everyday life in the Salthill area to practice drawing out doors to develop our drawing techniques and observational skills. We will visit other exhibitions featured in this year’s Arts Festival too.

We will experiment with charcoal, pencils, inks, gouache, collage and a variety of different painting mediums plus have lots of summer fun, drawing outdoors, making friends and learning about art with visual artist, art educator and studio member Vicky Smith.
